1. Category Analysis/Selection

Senior editorial members, leveraging feedback from our esteemed judges, review the nomination process annually to properly reflect changes in industry best practices, priorities and trends. We set requirements for detailed data, metrics and examples to help ensure the individuals and organizations selected honor the very best the profession has to offer.

2. Ensuring a Diverse Slate of Entrants

BenefitsPRO works to ensure its recognitions honor the absolute best that the industry has to offer, and the only way to do that is to ensure that we receive an array of relevant nominations that represent diverse backgrounds, geographies and organization types. We leverage the BenefitsPRO community in an effort to assure that a broad swath of the industry is aware of and participates in these recognitions.

3. Nomination Review Process

BenefitsPRO’s senior editors review and assess all submissions with input from the editorial board.

4. Judging

The editorial team diligently reviews the nominations without bias to select five of the industry’s top advisors as finalists, before narrowing down to the chosen 2024 Advisor of the Year. The judges are extremely knowledgeable within the field, and they in no way directly compete with the work that is being judged. We require all judges to announce any conflicts and exclude themselves from categories where they feel bias may occur.

5.  Recognition

The five Advisor of the Year finalists will be interviewed and honored with awards on stage at BenefitsPRO’s annual Broker Expo, which will be held in Aurora, CO on April 29, 2024. Each finalist will also be profiled on BenefitsPRO.com in April, and will receive additional recognition on BenefitsPRO's social channels and email newsletters. The chosen 2024 Advisor of the Year will be announced live on stage at the Broker Expo and will receive additional online coverage in May.
