Mr. Cornwell is a Principal of the firm and Practice Leader of the Health and Welfare employee benefits practice in Milliman’s Omaha office. Ron joined Milliman in 2000 to establish the practice.

In 2020, Ron launched Bavvy, Milliman’s only ICHRA platform, and now serves as President of Bavvy, Inc., an independent company built to deliver modern health benefit solutions while maintaining its strategic alignment with Milliman’s actuarial expertise.

Ron is responsible for the overall management and success of the practice, including new business development, staffing, service delivery, and corporate collaboration. Ron specializes in presenting healthcare trends to large group meetings and seminars; developing innovative health insurance analysis tools; PEO health market strategy; aggregated group underwriting; and exploring emerging healthcare models such as ICHRAs, free-market medicine, and predictive modeling.

Ron has over 27 years of experience in group benefits working both as a consulting actuary at large international consulting firms as well
as a product development actuary at a national health insurance company. He has worked on a broad range of products including medical, dental, prescription drug, vision, life, STD, LTD, PTO, Stop-loss reinsurance and CDHPs. His experience includes numerous Fortune 500 and publicly traded clients. He has experience as the lead actuary and project manager for HMO rate renewals, union negotiations, mergers and acquisitions and cafeteria plan design and implementation.
