Speaker Bio
Luke Davis is a Benefits Strategist for Novaura, an insurance agency primarily serving Central Texas based employers. After graduating college with degrees in Marketing Analytics and Political Science, Luke decided to join his father, Tim Davis, at his insurance agency Texas Benefit Alliance (now Novaura).
After a couple of years in the industry, Luke became increasingly frustrated with the traditional health insurance approach. With a single large hospital system and a regional traditional health insurance carrier, there were little to no innovative solutions in health insurance that employers were using. Luke partnered with Q4Intelligence, and was able to meet benefit professionals from across the country who helped to open his eyes to the creative insurance solutions that were available. Q4Intelliegence partnered with Luke and the then TBA team to rebrand their company into Novaura, bringing a “New Dawn” to employee benefits.
As a follower of Christ, Luke wanted to find a way through his work to serve God, his clients, and his community. He dreamed of creating a health plan that provided stability for employers and lowered out-of-pocket cost for employees. He read articles, watched videos, and met with industry leaders to learn about how to build a plan that would not only work, but could thrive. Rather than completely reinvent the wheel, Luke partnered with fellow Texan Josh Butler to use the foundation of the High Plains Health Plan. He spent a year building local direct contracts with hospitals and independent networks, and independent providers to provide a robust network of low-cost providers throughout the region.
Luke uses his faith and his passion to help Central Texas employers break away from the traditional health insurance approach by bringing benefit strategies built around $0 member cost and long-term sustainability. He has been featured in articles and interviewed by BenefitsPro. He was also a guest on Eric Silverman’s podcast #RockstarsRocking.
Luke lives in Waco, Tx with his wife, Kaylee Jo, and their son Everett. Luke and his wife Kaylee are also foster parents. He enjoys coaching basketball, running Spartan Races, outdoor cooking, hunting, and hiking. As a musician, Luke will often spend part of his lunch playing guitar in the office and is on the board of directors for the Temple Symphony Orchestra. He loves sports and is a huge Texas Rangers fan.
