8:00 AM - 11:00 AM | NABIP Workshop: Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangements (ICHRA) Certification Course

ICHRA is an evolution of the standard HRA. What makes ICHRA unique is that it can reimburse employees tax-free for individual health insurance premiums. This means employers may choose to forgo offering a traditional group health plan to employees. Instead, employees offered and accept an ICHRA, buy their own individual health insurance plan and receive tax-free premium reimbursement for some or all the cost. This plan -type puts employers in the driver’s seat. They design their plan, determine the participants, and establish the limits.

This three-hour course provides benefits and insurance professionals the training to better advise employers (brokers, CPAs, Attorneys, consultants) and achieve a higher comprehension level of the ICHRA market. Join leading experts Mark Mixer and Annette Bechtold, REBC, ChHC, CIC HRA Council who will provide both a foundational framework and insight as to where ICHRAs are best utilized.

Course instruction will cover:

  • Traditional Uses of HRAs and Reasons for Introduction for ICHRA
  • Federal Regulations
  • Interaction with Affordable Care Act – Affordability and Funding
  • The Individual Market
  • Employer Considerations for Viability
  • Interaction with ERISA
  • Operational Considerations

She wrote the bestselling memoir, Molly’s Game, convinced Aaron Sorkin to write the screenplay, and the film earned an Oscar nomination for Best Screenplay.
